Second law states that the external force acting on a body is directly proportional to the rate of change of momentum.

If a body of mass M is moving with velocity u and external force F changes at velocity to v in time t ,

then, F= change in momentum / time

F= mv-mu/t

F= m×v-u/t

F=m×a.
