Q- Derive K = 1/2(mv^2)

A- What is Kinetic Energy?
↪Kinetic Energy is the energy possessed by a body due to its state of motion.

Let there be a body of mass m kept at rest. After an application of Force F, it acquires a velocity v and produces a displacement S

Using, v^2 = u^2 + 2as
v^2 = 2as__(1) equation

W = F * S
W = ma * (v^2/2a)
W = mv^2/2
W = 1/2(mv^2)

This work done is stored in the form of Kinetic Energy. Thus,

K = 1/2(mv^2)

Hence Proved !!
