v=u+at ............(1)
and
V=d/t. (speed=distance/time)....(2)
but speed V is average speed.so we have to find V in terms of intial velocity (u) and final velocity
(v).
V=(v+u)/2
where,v=final velocity
u=intial velocity
From equation (2)
(v+u)/2=d/t
d=(v+u)t/2.......(3)
Here d is displacement
from equation (1) we have v=u+at,substitute this in equation (3)
d=[(u+at)+u]t/2
d=[2ut+at²]/2
d=ut+1/2*at²
in place of d we can put s,as we mostly see s as displacement
S=ut+1/2*at²
