Translational kinetic energy of a body is equal to the one -half of the product of its mass ,and square of its velocity ,or 1/2 mv^2 . .... accordingly ,rotational kinetic energy is equal to the one -half the product of the moment of inertia and the square of the angular velocity, or 1/2 lw^2
