Explanation:

first law of motion states that every object in a state of rest or in uniform motion continue with the state in rest or in uniform motion until an external force applied on it .

Answer:

Newton's first law of motion is also known as law of inertia.

according to this law a body at rest will remain at rest and body in motion will continue in motion in a straight line with a uniform speed unless it is compelled by an external force to change its state of rest or uniform motion.

inertiainertia is that property of a body due to which it resist change in its state of rest or uniform motion.

and remember that mass is the measure of inertia of a body.

sorry but there is not any derivation for Newton's first law of motion but there is for momentum. that is,

P = m×v

where,

P stands for momentum

m stands for mass

and v stands for velocity.

hope this will help you
