Let    Mass = M

         Density = p

         Height = h

          Area = A

          Force = F

          Acceleration = a

          Acceleration due to gravity = g

          Volume = V

Pressure is Force per Unit Area. So,

P=\frac{F}{A}

P=\frac{Mg}{A}                           [F=Ma; here, a=g. So, F=Mg]

P=\frac{pVg}{A}                          [Density=\frac{Mass}{Volume}; p=\frac{M}{V}; M=pV]

P=pg\frac{V}{A}                        

P=pgh                          [Area * Height = Volume; A*h=V; h=\frac{V}{A}]
