How do you write a quadratic equation from a table?
The Standard for of a quadratic equation is : f(x) = ax^2 + bx + c . (1)
Since you have 3 unknowns , you need at least 3 entrees
Suppose you have:
x . f(x) . . . . We have first: if x = 1 . f (1) = 4 then we have the first equation : ( Subs x = 1 in eq (1) above: a + b+ c = 3 (a)
1 . . 4 . . . . Do the same with x = -2 f( = 13; then repeat for x = - 1; f (- 1 ) = 6
-2 . .13 . . . . . In this case: a = 2 ; b = -1; c = 3
-1 . . 6
I hope someone else shows you a shorter way
