Surface tension is the property of fluid in which the surface of liquid is stretched by the neighbours molecule. So in surface tension one molecule of water is attract the another molecule of water which lie on the surface of water level.

By mathematically surface tension is given by the following relation.

Surface tension is equal to the ratio of force apply on the water surface to the length.

Surface tension=Force/length so it's unit will be.

Surface tension=N/m

N= kgm/s^2 ,. Now put this value in formula we get

Surface tension=kgm/ms^2. Here m is cancel from both numerator and denominator.
