work is done to increase its velocity from u and v , W=Fs....(1)

according to equation of motion , we have v²- u²= 2as

s =v²- u²/2a

where a is uniform acceleration, u is initial velocity and v is final velocity

F = ma

substituting the values of F and s in eq1 ,we have

W = ma× v²- u²/2a

W= 1/2 m( v²-u²)

this is called work energy theorem; total work is equal to the change in kinetic energy

if initial velocity ,u= 0

W= 1/2mv²

work done is equal to the kinetic energy of the object

KE= 1/2mv²

hence proved
