{\underline{\huge{\mathbf{\color{red}{To\:prove}}}}}

v^2 - u^2 = 2as

______________________❤

Distance travelled = average velocity * time

  • average velocity = \frac{u+v}{2}
  • from eq 1. v = u + at
  •  t =\frac{v-u}{a}
  • distance travelled = S

S =  \frac{u+v}{2} * \frac{v-u}{a}

S = \frac{v^2 - u^2}{2a}

 v^2 - u^2 = 2as

........HENCE VERIFIED

{\underline{\huge{\mathbf{\color{pink}{EXTRA\: INFO}}}}}

  • when a body starts from rest , initial velocity is zero(u=0), then

 v^2 = 2as

  • If a body is moving with a uniform retardation, a will be Negetive. equation of motion will be

 v^2 -u^2 =-2as
