Equations of motion :-

We have three equations of motion :

  • v = u + at .
  • s = ut + ½at².
  • 2as = v² - u² .

Where ,

  • s is Displacement.
  • v is final Velocity.
  • u is Initial velocity.
  • a is acceleration.
  • t is time taken.

\rule{200}{2}

Let's derive them .

First equation of motion

  • v = u + at .

Let us imagine an object having an initial Velocity u and it accelerates with a accelⁿ a and achieves final velocity v . It took time t .

So , as per definition of acclⁿ : Rate of change of Velocity is called acceleration .

=> a = v - u / t .

=> at = v - u .

=> v = u + at .
