distance travelled by trapezium = AOCB
area of trapezium = 1/2(sum of parallel sides)×h
= 1/2 ( OA + CB )× OC
= 1/2 ( u-v )× t
here,
t = v - u / a from equation ----------(1)
now,
s = 1/2 ( u-v ) × ( v-u )/ a
s = ( u + v ) ( v - u )/2a
s = v2 - u2 /2a
2as = v2 - u2
2as + u2 = v2
So,
v {}^{2}  =u {}^{2}  + 2as
