K.E =1/2M^xV^y

taking dimension on both sides

1/2=K which is dimensionally constant and x,yare suffix

[L2M1T-2]=[M1]x+[L1T-1]y

[L2M1T-2]=[Mx]+[LyT-y]

comparing both sides

y=2 x=1

K.E=1/2MV2
