The Lensmaker's Equation links the radii of curvature of two sides of alens, the refractive index of the material from which it is made and the focal length of the lens. Commonly it is given in the thin-lens limit, where it is assumed that the thickness of the lensis small compared to the object and image distances.

It is formula used for lenses gives us a relationship for the focal length,r refractive index, radius of curvature of the two spheres in the lens.
