Derive the second equation of motion for a uniformly accelerated body. A train starts from a station and moves with a constant acceleration for 2 minute. If it coves a distance of 4000 m in this period, find the acceleration.

Explanation:

s = ut + at²/2 where u -> initial velocity

t -> time , a-> acceleration and s-> distance

Here, u = 0, t=2min = 120sec

=> 4000 = a(120)²/2

=> a = 8000/14400 m/s² = 5/9 m/s²
