F= rate of change of momentum
F=m(v-u)/t
F=ma
1) 5=m1×8
m1=5/8
2) 5=m2×24
m2=5/24
3) F= (m1+m2)×a
5=(5/8+5/24)×a
5 = 5(4/24)×a
a=3m/s^2
