Derive the unit of force using the second law of motion . A force of 5N produces an acceleration of 8m/sec ² on a mass m1 and an acceleration of 24 m/sec ² on mass m2 . what acceleration would the same force provide if both the masses are tied together?

Explanation:

Solution

According to the newton's second law

F=m a=(kg)(ms−2)=kgms−2

It is also called practical unit of force

This absolute unit of force is called newtons. Its symbol is N.

m1=a1F=85kg

m2=a2F=245kg

If masses are tied together, then

M=m1+m2

M=(85+245)kg=(65)kg

Acceleration produced in M.

a=MF=5/65=6 ms−2
