p = momentum
m = mass
v= velocity
F=force
___________________________
we know
p= mv
therefore
dp/dt = d(mv)/dt
dp/dt = m dv/dt (mass is constant)
dp/dt = m x a. (dv/dt = a)
now by newtons second law force is directly proportional to rate of change of momentum(dp/dt)
F is proportional to dp/dt
therefore
F is proportional to ma
F=Kma (K = proportionality constant)
when K=1
F= ma
m = mass
v= velocity
F=force
