We know that,

W=Fs

From 2nd law of motion

F=ma-(i)

From 3rd eq. of motion

2as=v²-u²

s=v²-u²/2a-(ii)

Subtituting (i) & (ii)

W=ma×v²-u²/2a

W=1/2×m(v²-u²)

W=change in kinetic energy

Kinetic energy=1/2×mv²
