In chemistry, the law of definiteproportion, sometimes called Proust'slaw or the law of definite composition, or law of constant composition states that a given chemical compound always contains its component elements in fixed ratio (by mass) and does not depend on its source and method of preparation

hey
____

laws of constant proportion
______________________

also known as proust law

•in a chemical substance elements are always in a fixed proportion by mass

•if we will remove any of the atom then it will not form compound

•the no of atoms are fixed , then the mass of compound is also constant or fixed

•element A + element B = compound C

•2 atoms of element A + 3 atoms of element B = 1 unit of compound C

•(if we will see the single unit of compound C that it will contain 2 atom of element A and 3 atom of element B )

•if 17 g of Ammonia (NH3) will be decomposed then

•17g (NH3) = Nitrogen (14g) + hydrogen (3g) we will get

•so, N:H = 14:3

• note Ammonia (NH3) is made up of hydrogen and nitrogen

hope helped
