The traveller felt confused when he find that the road had two diversions. As a traveller he can only by one road.

He doesnt know what is suitable for him. He can choose only one type of career . The path that he have chosen describes his future and his destination. He stands in the yellow woods ,still confused. Then he chose the second path , which was less travelled by, as he thought that he he wouldn't follow the path of his elders ,he can create a new history. That is why, he had chosen the the second path. both these path represents the 2 choices in our life. The one that we chose decides our future. the one that he don't chose is' the road not taken'
