Responsibility is never a by product of any outside event or incident.

We do take lessons from events or others experiences but unless we experience it inside of us, the sense of change / responsibility does not arise.

It took me 7 years to become responsible enough to quit smoking after a habit of almost 8 years of smoking. Many incidents happened during those 7 years where i was tryingin hits and pieces but when I accepted that there is a problem and when my heart accepted deep inside that yes, move on , that was the time the real responsibility was set.

I am sure that things happen differently with different people but I guess the responsibility with a cause comes when the movement is deep inside, otherwise we remain vulnerable to get drawn to our irresponsible ways of living.
