Answer: Neanderthals were humans like us, but they were a distinct species called Homo neanderthalensis. They had different characters to be observed:-
• They were shorter in size and height.
• Neanderthal has thicker bones, shorter limbs, an asymmetrical humerus , barrel chest, and thicker metacarpals.
• jaws were larger and more robust than those of modern humans and had a gap called the retromolar space.
