describe a best moment in your relationship?

Answer:
There are many best and worst moments in my relationship, some that are so bad that I felt that I wasn't correct for him and some so good that I think that our wedding is the best thing to have happened to us.
It was few months after our wedding. We were visiting a function of my husband's family diety and more than a function it is a get together for women to show off their status by wearing the costliest sarees and heavy jewellery. My MIL had instructed me to wear a new saree and all the jewels that I had. The family members started hours before we left to the place.
My ‘Mister' asked me to wear a simple saree and no jewellery. I asked him the reason to which he said to do as he had said. I felt bad by the way he said and I was also worried as I was instructed something else by my MIL.(my first experience of getting sandwiched between them both…uffffffff)
I wore a simple cotton salwar kameez as I felt that since no one wears a gold necklace for a cotton dress, it was a safe pick.(I was a new bride so I was obviously worried about how I was behaving).
We reached the place and as expected my MIL gave a bewildered look seeing me arrive plain in a dress instead of a heavy silk saree. Few of the elderly ladies asked me why I hadn't arrived grand to which I faked a smile and lied that I didn't know how to tie a saree. One lady who belong to the same family passed a comment that I looked like the maid of the house.
Did I hear it by myself?
Yes, I did and my husband's cousin sisters who listened to her told her that she was being mean. She was elder to me and hence I acted as if I didn't hear as I didn't want to create any scene.
I returned back home with my ‘Mister' when they still stayed back and on my way back I told him what I heard her say about me and I asked him why he made me dress up so simple.
His reply,” I like you simple and also I don't want any negative eyes of any jealous lady to fall on you”.
I blushed.
After returning home, he asked me to give all my jewellery to him as he had to pawn it to invest it in business and he was short of money as he had spent it on our wedding.
Without second thoughts and without asking or telling either my parents or in-laws I gave him all the jewellery except the mangal sutra(Thali) and a pair of tiny earrings.
I then understood his intention of telling me to dress up simple! He is a businessman…completely!
Few years later in a function my Mister's cousin brother sat in the circle where I was chatting and after few minutes of talking about random stuff he said that my husband had told him that he was really lucky to have got an understanding wife who inspite of being a new bride gave away her jewellery without second thoughts. He said,”Vadhina(brother's wife) when I asked my wife to give her jewellery few months ago(they were married for 4 years by then) she took all her jewellery and put it in a locker at her mom's place”.
It turns out that the men were discussing about their business and finances and my mister had blurted out. It is so not him to praise me. He considers me as a treasure and he owns it. He refuses to share anything, any information about me to anybody.
So, that was a first of its kind behaviour from him.
He has so far not once praised my cooking, my dressing style, called me pretty, he only talks about my minus points with me and repeatedly calls me lazy but he had praised me enough in his close circle of business friends about how I handle his tantrums and mood swings and how he feels bad for behaving so badly with me at times.
Uffffffff….atleast he recognizes it even if he doesn't admit it with me. I am happy atleast knowing that.
I am living with hearing compliments from other's mouth.(Koochamma kooda pedithe, maachamma mayam chesindata)(I am not sure what to do with it)… :D
Hearing about my Mister praise me from a relative is definitely one of those best moments of my life.
