lizards and other reptiles including birds excrete uric acid ..
where as mammals like cat and human beings excrete urea..
Urea is converted into uric acid...and the production of uric acid requires more energy and uric acid is very less toxic than urea....
thank you hope this would help

Description of a cat and a lizard on the basis of their chief nitrogenous wastes excreted:

  • The very first difference between the Cat and the Lizard is that the Cat belongs to the 'class Mammalia' where as the Lizard belongs to the 'class Reptilia'.
  • There are three types of nitrogenous wastes excreted, which varies from organism to organism. These are Uric acid, Ammonia and Urea.
  • Cat being a mammal is ureotelic and excretes Urea.
  • Whereas the Lizard being a member of class Reptilia, is Uricotelic and excretes nitrogenous waste in the form of Uric acid.
