Veedapureeswarar temple ther (ratha) festival

• This temple is a famous temple.
• One day a historic philosopher Thirugnanasammanthar came to this temple there is no food for him so he got hungry there was a male palm tree in the temple suddenly he sang a song and the palm tree was converted to female tree then he eat the fruit and continues his journey
• The god in this temple is lord shiva(vedhapureeswarar).
• The history tells that the 4 vedhas are written in this temple when shiva teach his students lord ganesha broke out his ivory and write the vedhas.
• So shiva was called as veedhapureeswarar.
• This festivals is to praise the god lord shiva and ganesha
• This is a 10 day festival especially 7th and and 10th day are impprtant.
• There are three rathas one is for Lord shiva, parthidevi and ganesha.
• This is the famous and local event to me
