Describe a piece of electronic equipment that you find useful. use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. use at least 5 phrasal verbs and 5 idioms. you must underline them

Explanation:

  • A piece of electronic equipment that I find useful is the laptop. I use the laptop for it for work and studies and a lot of other things. I remember before I owned laptop, how I used to envy my friends. The day I was gifted a laptop by my parents I was "On cloud nine" (idiom, very happy).
  • As a student a laptop means more efficient and detailed note taking (Taking notes by hand can be time-consuming),  indexing and organising my study material automatically, faster writing and editing, and convenient group study by sharing notes with other students.
  • Also, in my laptop I can save so many important things and also have a back up (phrasal verb, make a copy) of all these things, say, my photos, soft copies of my important documents, etc - so that if i lose any of these, I can always retrieve it from the back up. This makes it feel  like "It's a piece of cake" (idiom, it's easy)
  • I also also use it for personal reasons, as in, sending emails, catch up (phrasal verb, get in touch) with friends/relatives through chatting or Video calls, watching movies, playing games, and so on. Just like how people says "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"(idiom), my laptop everyday keeps all my problems away!!!
  • If i need to figure something out (phrasal verb (understand, find the answer), I simply need to open my laptop and surf the Internet for information I need. I would be lost without my laptop, especially, since a big part of my day revolves around my laptop and also in several cases it really is vital to carry out (phrasal verb, perform a task)  my day-to-day activities.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to even try and imagine life without it. To me  the laptop is like a friend who has been with me "Through thick and thin" (idiom; in good times and bad times). This just shows how technology has changed the way we live and work. While people say that technology can be bad, nevertheless laptop/computer is "A blessing in disguise" (idiom, what seemed bad became a good thing).
  • When I think back (phrasal verb, remember) of the days  (especially during my grandparents' time), when laptop/computer was not there, I wonder how people managed!
