The law of conservation of mass states that mass can neither be created nor be destroyed. If we account for all reactants and products in a chemical reaction, the total mass will be the same at any point in time in any closed system.  

weigh a test tube.

take barium chloride solution and sodium sulphate solution in two test tubes .weigh them. subtract the weight of the test tube to get only the weight of barium chloride and sodium sulphate. now weigh the flask in which the reaction is going to occur. now pour both the solutions in the flask. white curry precipitate of barium sulphate will be formed along with a colourless solution of sodium chloride. weight the flask with its contents again. subtract weight of the flask to get the weight of the products . this will be equal to the weight of the reactant.
