Answer: I can imagine a situation where I am sitting in a crowded outdoor café in close proximity to someone smoking a cigarette. Despite being outdoors, the smoke from the cigarette is carried by the wind and I end up inhaling the secondhand smoke.

Physically, I may feel irritated and uncomfortable as the smoke can cause a burning sensation in my eyes and nose, trigger coughing or worsen any existing respiratory conditions.

Mentally, I may feel frustrated and annoyed that my enjoyment of the outdoor space is being disrupted by someone else's actions.

To prevent being exposed to ETS in this situation, I could have chosen a table that is located away from the smoking area or asked the café staff to move me to a smoke-free zone. Alternatively, I could have politely asked the smoker to move further away or refrain from smoking in my vicinity. If I knew beforehand that smoking was allowed in the outdoor area, I could have chosen a different café with a smoke-free policy.
