Hostel life is the most exciting phase of one’s life which should never be missed if offered. I think it teaches you more lessons than your college or school.
I have been living in the hostel for last 3 years and only few months are left. Hostel becomes your home and you get so many friends who become as important as your family members. There are so many perks you get :
You can sleep at anytime. You can wake up at any time.
There are people on their phone calls at 2 am. You can rely on them if you are afraid at night to go outside in corridor.
You start discussing “……….” and end-up on “someone’s crush”.
Maggie tastes more good when you make it in the hidden Kettles from the hostel staff.
If you survived Mess food then you get a confidence that you can survive anywhere.
You find different kind of people here : Who talks alot, Who sleeps alot, Who cracks poor jokes, Who eats alot, Who is ready to help anytime, Who can listen to your old stories in 100 times because before they were not paying attention, Who is fan of “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”, Some are “Pure Bloods” because they are die hard fan of “Harry Potter”, Some admires “Tyrion Lennister”, People who listen “Ranjit Bawa”.
You have to stand in a queue for washrooms. Sometime you have to quarrel with someone who plays tricks on putting their buckets inside without their turns.
Most of the time you don’t get your breakfast for timing constraints. You learn patience about how to wait for mess to open for Lunch.
Birthdays are red carpet events. Someone mistakenly tells the surprise plans to the person for whom it was planned.
Hostel life is the best time to discover your talents. Some become singers. Some become poets. Here some are Dancers and some plays songs for them.
There are different kind of rooms in hostel. Extremely clean. Average. Extremely dirty. It depends upon the laziness of you and your room partner.
Ya most importantly roommate is like your sibling.
Here you learn a lot from the people, about the people and especially You come to know yourself. That is the best part of someone’s hostel life.
