Yes, this happened to me when I was working for the technical department. Once i was confused by my customer needs. In this context, the first thing a person needs to possess is probing skills. First of all, I asked the customer about his requirements patiently. Then, I suggested the relevant products and services and explain the various features and descriptions of the articles.
I also offered more options, if desired by the customer to help clarify and choose the right product or service. After satisfying the customer to the fullest, thanked him/her and asked to call anytime whenever he/she feels any problems and greeted him/her politely before ending the whole conversation.
