Last summer, I was on my way to the park, but saw a lot of activity going on in front of the temple. A community meal had been organised there. I decided to help out with serving the food. I helped serve fresh food and also distributed packets of fruits. It was extremely difficult to manage the unruly crowd of hungry children. The worst was when the children ate bananas and threw the peels all around the premises. An elderly gentleman slipped and fell. Luckily he was not injured. At that point I stopped serving. I approached the children and coaxed them to pick up the peels and put them in the bins. Surprisingly, they were very receptive. They understood their mistake and quickly got to work. Soon enough, the entire area was clear of peels and there were no more incidents of slippage. Hopefully, the children will remember how peels can cause accidents and not repeat it again.

Explanation:

  • A few years back, during the summer vacations, the various things lying around the house attracted my attention.
  • One of the rooms in our house was full of unused objects, newspapers, discarded items, old books and clothes.
  • I wanted to clean the room and get rid of all those materials.
  • So, I sorted the stuff and organised them. I separated the clothes, books, shoes and other electronic items.
  • I stuffed them in a long plastic bag and was determined to throw them away.
  • But when I went out to find a place where i could leave the bag, I saw a vase maker. I approached him and enquired if he wanted the books, shoes and other stuff. He said "Yes"
  • He was living with his family in a roadside stand.
  • I gave him the bag and left for home.
