The Himalayas span across the northeastern part of India, passing through the countries of Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, Afghanistan and China. The Himalayan range covers about 1,500 miles, and consists of three parallel ranges commonly referred to as the Lesser Himalayas, the Greater Himalayas and the Outer Himalayas.
