My worlds best moment was the new year day

New Year’s Eve: The morning and afternoon are all about finishing any unfinished tasks, getting all the laundry and cleaning done and any rubbish out of the house. I like to start the New Year with a clean slate, so to speak, and nothing hanging over from the previous year.

So that’s the day, and then the evening depends on whether I’m with family or friends, or on my own. With family or friends there’ll be board games and food and chatting up a storm, on my own there’ll be chatting with internet friends and treat-type food.

Either way there’ll be champagne at the bells, and I’ll open the front door to let the new year in. I’m not really superstitious about anything, but it’s a tradition that makes me happy.

New Year’s Day A brisk walk in a park with some of my grown-up children (assuming it’s not too wet or muddy for my wheelchair) and the relaxing knowledge that I won’t be doing any laundry or housework as everything will have been done the day before to start the new year with a clean and tidy house.

I’ll be thankful not to have a hangover, and I’ll write down some goals and aspirations for the new year.
