Types of soil found in india are-
1) alluvial soil- it is found in the northern plains and parts of gujarat and tamil nadu. It is rich in humus and is the most fertile soil, varoius crops are grown in this region. Alluvial soil covers the majority part of the indian land.
2) black soil- Black soil is found in the malwa plateau region and in the deccan plateau region and parts of maharashtra. Black soil is well known for its water holding capacity and it is good for the cultivation of cotton.
3) red soil- Red soil is found in the parts of karnataka,western ghats and in parts of chota nagpur plateau it is rich in iron and less in humous, it is slightly acidic and do not retain moisture.
