In the beginning of the play when shylock explains how he was tormented by antonnio, the critics do feel sympathetic towards shylock for he was jew.But in the end shylock merciless plots and manipulative actions to take a revenge from antonnio was something very brutal. therefore I am against him at the end of the scene. I am against Shylock, in the final scene. It is because he demanded Antonio's flesh. Portia asked him to be merciful. But, he wasn't. This shows that he is brutal. In the final scene, without any other way, he accepted to get thrice the sum. So, this shows he is brutal; and so, I am against him in his final scene.
