two two bar magnets are taken whose sides are marked according to the respective poles

one of the magnet is made to to hang freely from a string

after the the bar magnet rests in North South position The other bar magnet is brought close to it

the South Pole of the second magnet is brought near the north pole of the freely hanging magnet

the observation is that both of the magnet attracted towards

similarly the the north pole of the second magnet is brought close to the South Pole of the freely hanging magnet

the observation seen as a both of the magnets are attracted towards each other

thus this is a simple experiment to show that the opposite poles of a magnet attract each other
