Take some amount of ice in a beaker and insert a thermometer. Heat the beaker. Find out the temperature changes. What you observed is thermometer shows first
0 0C and remains constant till all the ice melts completely. After the completion of melting of  ice the temperature rises and water starts boiling when it reaches
100 0C  and remains constant till the process gets completed. After that increase of temperature makes water to exist with only vapour.
The reason for these changes is when ice is heated the kinetic energy of the water molecule increases and they become liquid and further heating increases kinetic energy further and causes the water to convert to gaseous state.
