MATERIAL REQUIRED: a China dish , silver chloride crystals .
PROCEDURE: 1.take a China dish and keep some silver chloride crystals in it.
2. keep the China dish under a window where it is in direct contact with the sunlight.
OBSERVATION: the silver chloride crystals which are of white in colour turns to grey after a few hours when kept in sunlight.
RESULT: there is a decomposition reaction which has taken place.in this reaction , due to sunlight, the chlorine gas has evolved and grey colour silver is left behind.
