a) At first, take the mixture in a dish, with an inverted funnel at the top......heat the mixture.....naphthalene will sublime and condense in the inverted funnel.....So, naphthalene gets separated.

Then, dissolve the mixture in water and filter it.....sodium chloride dissolves in water and passes through the filter paper but sand gets stuck in it as the residue.....So, sand in separated.....

Then, heat the salt water. The water evaporates and the salt remains in the beaker.....So, the salt gets separated.

b) Simply apply paper chromatography
