  1. take a board and make a hole in it .
  2. take 2 more boards and make hole at same places .
  3. now place both of them in a straight line
  4. now take a torch and place in the front on last or first board
  5. you will see the light passing out of them
  6. now change the position of one of a board . you will see that the light has stopped passing through them
  7. this activity shows that light travels in a straight line

Answer:Aim: To show light travels in a straight line.

Materials required: Three cardboard sheets, a candle, holders for the sheet

Method:

1. Three equal pieces of cardboard A, B and C are taken  and a small hole is made in the center of each  cardboard.

2. The candle is placed at one end as shown in figure,  the cardboards are arranged in such a way that the  three holes and the candle flame are in a straight line.

3. The candle flame can be viewed through the hole of  cardboard C.

4. Displace one of the cards a little and again look at the flame.

Observation: The flame is not be visible through the hole of cardboard C.

Conclusion: From this, it is clear that light travels in a straight line.
