Yes!! It's possible to perform photosynthesis in the absence of light.

This process is call light - independent reaction or Calvin Cycle or dark reactions.

It is possible with the help of the enzyme called RuBisCO. It uses the newly formed NADPH. It produces 3 - carbon compound which later combine to form sucrose and starch.

This cycle helps in the fixation of carbon.

The 3 carbon compound combines with other compound to form carbohydrates and lipids.

take two pots with plant in each of the pot . take one of the pot in sunlight and the other pot in dark room left. and water both the plant equally .don't disturb both the plants after one week you will find that the plant that was in sunlight has grown well but the plant that was in dark room didn't grow well this shows that.
