Explanation:

Switch on the battery so that the current begins to flow. Sprinkle some fine iron filings around the current carrying wire. Tap the surface gently. The iron filings get arranged in concentric circles which denotes the shape of magnetic field lines around the straight current carrying conductor (i.e. the wire).

A copper wire, battery or current supply, magnet with marked north and south diection and a stand to hang wire from both side, a key or switch

U can add a rheostate is required according to class

 \red{\underline{\huge{\bold{\textit{\green{\bf{Arrangment :-  }}}}}}}

Mark the wire to stay still between the stand like in the image, hang the magnet like wise it should be free to move in any direction.

Now turn on the switch.

Then there will be a deflection in the magnet

Then magnet with rest in direction perpendicular to the direction of the current.

Now change the sides of the wire to the opposite direction

Then also magnet will rest in the direction Perpendicular to the direction of the current

 \orange{\underline{\huge{\bold{\textit{\green{\bf{Conclusion :-  }}}}}}}

There is the presence of magnetic field which causes the deflection of the magnet in the experiment
