The motion of materials or objects causes vibrations. A sound originates in the vibrationof an object, which makes the air or another substance around the object vibrate. The vibration of the air moves outward in all directions in the form of a wave.5 The following are examples of how certain soundsare produced.

Let's take the example of tabla
when we hit the membrane of tabla it vibrates,
let's prove it
now, put some few, small pebbles on the stretched membrane and hit the membrane, we will see that the pebbles are jumping up and down
this proves that sound is produced when an object vibrates.
this is the best and right answer
hope it helps you
