describe an experiment to show that liquid pressure increases with deapth
Answers
Answer:
The purpose of this experiment is to determine the relationship between depth and pressure. Pressure and depth have a directly proportional relationship. This is due to the greater column of water that pushes down on an object submersed. Conversely, as objects are lifted, and the depth decreases, pressure is reduced.
Aim: To show that pressure of liquid increases with depth.
Materials required: A bottle and water.
Procedure: Fill the bottle of water up to 3/4
Make holes in the bottle at different heights.
Observation: You will notice that water seeping out of the highest hole has less force and water seeping out of the lowest hole has more force.
Conclusion: Water pressure increases with depth as the water seeping out of the deepest hole has more force which means the liquid exerted more pressure on the container.
