Describe an experiment to show the process of electroplating.Also explain why we find a coating of copper on the negative electrode.​

Explanation:

The metal to be used for coating is chosen as the anode and the object to be electroplated is chosen as the cathode. The electrolyte is a salt of the anode metal which gets dissociated into its respective ions. ... The current in the solution is due to the flow of these ions.

Dip the copper strip and object to b electroplated in the beaker containing copper sulphate solution . Leave the set up for half an hour . U will c a deposit of reddish broun coating on the object . When electricity is passed through the solution , copper ions move towards the cathode and get reduced to copper metal .
