It was the summer vacations . My friends and i were planning to go to a movie but we were short on funds ...... that means that I was short on funds . I had spent my allowance to buy a skateboard . I had to find a way to get money . Then it struck . Why couldn’t I earn some ? I had many neighbours . Some had dogs and others had huge gardens . Maybe I could mow the lawns or walk their dogs . Without a second thought , I raced to my neighbour’s place and asked if I could do any odd job in the house . She was happy to see that she had finally gotten help and led me to her backyard . As soon as I stepped into it , my eyes literally popped over . There were leaves everywhere . On the ground , on some bushes , EVERYWHERE . She said that she’d give me ₹1000 if I would rake her backyard . I just nodded , speechless . I got to work . I braced myself and started raking . It took me about 3 hours , but I finally finished . I was sweating like a pig , I had never done this much work before in my entire life . She stood next to me , satisfied , and gave me the thousand rupees . I was really happy . I felt like I was on top of the world ! I had earned something for the first time and I felt absolutely happy . I would have jumped or whooped in joy . The feeling was great . I was really proud of what I had done . So many emotions poured into my mind that it almost became numb .
