When I Got In Trouble Because Of My Friends
Each one of us finds himself or herself in soup because of his/her friend’s advice in our young days. This usually happens in our adolescence when we don’t have much experience. I also had to face lots of embarrassment on account of my friend’s advice once.
It was my last year in the school. Just a few months before the final examination, I became the victim of Cupid’s arrows. I felt I was exceedingly attracted to a very beautiful and intelligent girl in the class. I confided the truth to my friends.
I realized they became more excited about it than me! They began advising me to approach that girl and express my heart’s feelings to her. I readily declined it as I had no guts. How could I do it? Besides, I feared the girl might complain against me to the teachers!
On a particular day, I went to my close friend’s home to complete an assignment. While we were in the middle of it he said, “I have Sanya’s number! Would you like to talk to her?”
“No”, said I.
“Why? Call her and tell her you like her! Be a man, otherwise you will keep regretting all your life!”
“No, I can’t do that!”
My foolish friend just dialed her number.
“Hello, Sanya, this is Shiva, here Aryan wants to talk to you.” He handed the phone to me. Puzzled, nervous, and confused I put the phone to my ear and Sanya’s voice crackled from the speaker, “Yes, Aryan! This is my mother’s number! What do you want?”
“Nothing, I just wanted to ask if you could lend me your Physics practical notebook, I have to complete all my experiments”, said I.
“Sure! I will bring it to school tomorrow. Kindly don’t call on my mother’s number in future. She does not like it!”
“I am sorry”, said I apologetically.
I had a long argument with my friend, Shiva. I felt so embarrassed after that. I decided I would never ever share any feelings of mine with any friend.
