Anaerobic means without oxygen. In humans, what you'll do is take glucose, and, in many steps, break it down to two molecules of a three carbon molecule called lactic acid. Anaerobic respiration in humans produces lactic acid.

Glucose metabolism is the primary means of energy production followed by fat metabolism and then lastly, protein metabolism.
Glucose metabolism occurs in three parts: glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain.
In the presence of oxygen, one molecule of glucose can yield up to 38 molecules of ATP as it is processed through all three components of aerobic metabolism.
However, in the absence of oxygen, the same amount of glucose is only processed through glycolysis and yields a net of 2 molecules of ATP. However, that is not the end of the story.
Without oxygen, the end product of glycolysis is lactate (lactic acid is extremely short lived and dissociates quickly) which is then transported out of the cell and shipped to the liver where it is incorporated into glycogen (this is called the Cori cycle) after which it can start the journey all over again.
