The chloroplasts in the leaves are found in long elongated cells of leaves known as the pallisade mesophlly. The chloroplasts are found in this section of the upper epidermis and are free to move about. The advantage this has to the plant, is that the chloroplasts are able to tap the maximum sunlight for maximal photosynthesis.
